Wait…. where did all this water come from?

Here comes my new fridge!

My refrigerator arrived: my pride and joy Samsung french door fridge that is energy rated to use less than $40 a year in electricity. The set up guys informed me they are not allowed to actually connect the water line to the house water supply so they turned off the ice maker, had me sign a couple papers, and took off for their next delivery. A few moments later, a large puddle appeared from under the fridge. Uh-oh! Wendy and I suspiciously pondered the possibility the fridge might be a refurb. with water still in the lines. I mopped up the “accident” and mentally noted to watch it for further trouble.

Further trouble happened later in the evening. I had just finished rinsing out the paint brushes in the sink, turned around, and stepped into water… ALL OVER THE FLOOR– WALL TO WALL!!!! I immediately appreciated that one of the items I had just moved to the house was the wet/dry shop vac. This flood was WAY beyond towels. After slurping up the mess and mentally rehearsing the reaming out I was going to give the fridge people, I pushed the fridge from the wall to see if I had gotten all the water.

That’s when I noticed water droplets half-way up on the exterior of the fridge. Hmmm! I put my new theory to the test and, upon running the sink, confirmed that water also spurted from the copper water line tube for the fridge. Is it supposed to do that? I’ll have to find out, but for now, I don’t get to use the kitchen sink… and I mentally apologized to the refrigerator people.
