Box briggade
|So they said there might be rain tomorrow. With that I bumped up my plans a day and took the afternoon to move boxes to a temporary storage unit. I might have gotten things moving quicker if I had not misplaced my driver’s license somewhere. I had to go home and get my passport and I had no idea where the DL was. Tonight I found it… in my video camera case- of course (!?!)
I made six delivery runs in Karen’s station wagon. By that point my back was aching. Wendy offered to come help some more and I gladly accepted, except that by the time she and her friend arrived around 7pm, I was already exhausted. They really gave a good boost to the efforts taking a couple loads of bigger boxes in their SUV. They brought along dinner too. Food…and good food too! It was a little rough as I don’t think Wendy really took me seriously earlier when I told her neither house was dining-ready. I had suggested we just eat on our own and after we meet up and move, I’d treat them to dessert out somewhere. Nope- she brought dinner. We ate in the very cold new house and minimized the dishes as I’ve not attempted to run the dishwasher yet, and will not until I know I will be there for the full cycle, just in case. Wendy asked why i didn’t have the heat running. The heat IS running; at least, all that is presently safe to turn on. This weekend I hope to have a chimney sweep out to inspect the wood stove and chimney. After that, I’ll have some real heat in there.
So back at the rental house I still have so much sorting of stuff to do! But now that it’s after 10pm, I will stop worrying about it for the night. Tomorrow will be another day of sandwiching packing and moving in and around my work for the day. PHEW!
