Permits pretty please!

First thing yesterday morning I submitted my construction plans for permit review. The lady at the counter was almost apologetic that a very large component of the fees was my public school charges. Pretty ironic since the family that left this house had four kids and moved to the next town over. I have none; I just want a bigger bedroom.

Late afternoon I received one request for clarification: despite stating throughout the documents that this was a bedroom “re-do” and addition of a utility room and garage, they suspected I was adding an additional bedroom. They don’t want it in words– they want it in pictures with the old bedroom crossed out and the new bedroom drawn on top of it. OK…whatever you say; happy to oblige!

They said it would take five to ten days for permits to receive approval. They also said there’s so little business happening, I’d have it in five days.
