In appreciation of a good day

Today was my comp day for last week’s excessive hours off at conference. I treated myself to sleeping in until 8am. Then with cup of coffee in hand, looked at my work email. Yes, it’s a compulsion. I emailed a few responses and then sized up my day.

By day’s end I had reviewed all the energy incentives I can get through the city, bought some wood for the wood stove, filled the car with gas (YEOUCH!), had an over-due meeting and document signing with my insurance agent, unpacked about 30 boxes, had an energy audit at the house to qualify me for the insulation rebates, sold and helped a fellow pack up the daybed I listed on Craig’s list yesterday, made it to most of my Valley Art gallery board meeting, checked Stecchino’s to be sure they are open for my client lunch tomorrow and called it a day at 9:45pm. I fit a can of soup and a bag of popcorn in there for nutrition–not the best, not the worst.

The greatest delight of my day was getting a fire going in the wood stove. The house isn’t remotely warm, but near the stove…. aaaaaahh!

So now there’s one last thing to do before bed: blow up my mattress. Remember? The daybed sold today. Sweet dreams.
