It’s all in how you look at it…
|Right now I’d prefer to look at it from the back yard.
Today was an excellent progress day. Troy and his gang got down to business. At 7 a.m. Troy arrived and whisked off the debris-filled trailer to the dump. Bye bye Wally! Next, Chad the excavator arrived. We chatted a moment before I darted off to work–and what a work day it was!
About noontime I was interrupted midst hair pulling with a few questions and comments from Troy. First, they dug down to the water line and it looked gross and begging for replacement. There was also a needed conversation about the dirt removal. I went by the house and found huge holes and trenches appearing. My side yard looked like swiss cheese. That said, there was a very wise, attentive site supervisor: the excavator’s border collie. What a beautiful dog with ice/denim blue eyes.
So after checking in, it was back to work for more hair pulling. At day’s end there was another phone message from Troy hurrying me home. After 5:30 p.m. I gave up with the day’s project and came home to find the holes looking much more organized and Troy about to reconnect a brand new water line. In front of the house was a hulking pile of dirt with the bulldozer perched atop. Beyond the holes stood the neighbor’s entire family looking on. I am SO glad I have patient neighbors–it’s really a mess out there right now!
While the front is quite a mess, I think I’ll go look out the back window at my newly planted fruit trees in the backyard. Looking at it from that angle makes me feel better.
