Two road diverged in a yellow wood….make that three…
|As if it were not hard enough to figure out an artist statement, I need to figure out a style too I think. Again, I’m torn. I have an art style for images I want others to experience as painted reminders of a romanticized reality that conveys emotion beyond just the documentation of the camera. I also have those certain images that I find personally uniquely striking. Those don’t follow any sort of theme at all. And then there’s the class of photos my heart doesn’t deeply embrace, yet I’m told are the ones others are truly impressed with.
I’d most like to offer that second set I mentioned, but as I also mentioned, that set encompasses a real hodgepodge: a section of an iron gate against a two-tone blue wall; the Boston terrier wine dog; glimpses of a waterfall through mossy tree branches; a little boy spying on me out the back window of his classroom. The theme? I dunno. They all just struck me so that I vividly remember each in profound detail years after snapping the shutter.
I think what I most need now is some advice. Three roads before me. Is there a way to travel more than one?
