Dabble & Play

A bit part of art is the exploration of creativity. Right now I’m not producing new finished pieces because I’m busy dabbling and playing. That means I’m getting in my trail time and snapping off wonderful images; then I come home and spend hours at the computer conjuring up various magical electrons to create the image I hold in my head of the emotions and presence I want to evoke through the image. And, most evenings I do this, I finish by clicking “CLOSE.” The computer quizzes “Your file is unsaved. Are you sure you want to close? ” YUP! A vague memory of a quote by Edison about learning thousands of ways NOT to invent a lightbulb hum in my mind. It’s an almost-satisfying process because I’m closer than I was in reaching my goal, though I’m not quite there yet. Maybe tomorrow evening? Maybe so. Maybe so.
