Maryhill Museum

May 1, 2016- Maryhill Museum is open for the summer and the sun is way too bright so we visit to peruse the collections and escape the heat for awhile. There are amazing displays of intricate filigree metal works designed for monarch use. Elsewhere is found an amazing display on the life history of Sam Hill, builder of not only the Maryhill estate but also the wonderful roads along the Gorge. Not to be missed is a Native American collection of baskets, etchings, tools, clothing and other fascinating pieces of both their histories and current life. To my surprise, they include a wonderful collection of Eskimo artifacts as well. As we depart, we joke that Munch Mix has just found his next car.
